I get thousands of comments like this one, but today is slow and I just thought I would highlight how stupid and hysterical some people are when they respond to one of my blog posts. These kind of people are the non-thinking Harry Potter hating Christian fanatics that populate South African churches in large numbers.
The best way to respond to such a person is by showing them that they are discussing something they have no clue about, and to break it down, sentence by sentence. This lady we shall call “Ren” (I don’t really want to publish her personal details), had the following to say to me in a letter (anything in italic font is written by her).
Lets get on with the first sentence yet.
“Have you ever spoke to an eye witness of evolution, nobody could,”
Of course I have, so have you. Unfortunately your home economics and Bible education classes at school never gave you the life skills to even understand the basics of science. Based on this one sentence alone we know everything we need to know about your knowledge on evolution. You have absolutely none.
Almost every human being alive has witnessed evolution. Do you look the exact same as your father or your mother? No… you look a little like each of them. Since there is change in your looks and genes (you inherited from both your parents), you are no longer the exact same as your parent… you changed… ergo you evolved.
However, luckily I am smart enough to figure out that what you meant to say was not that no body had seen evolution in action (as almost everyone has), but what no one has seen is a spontaneous major evolutionary change. IE, the Christian Crocoduck (have duck half crocodile). Now its pretty clear you have no clue about what evolution is, so I am going to assume you don’t read any scientific literature or any academic or scientific news. Once again you are wrong of course. A major change has being observed under scientific experimentation in a lab with Escherichia coli bacterium. Anyways, your completely wrong and inaccurate assumptions aside… lets have a look at the next bit of your sentence:
“as to date prove that evolution is a fact as it is only by faith that people believe it, in fact a lot of their theories have been disproved.”
This bit of your sentence is a down right lie. Its that simple. You are speaking rubbish. Nothing in science should require any type of faith. Especially not evolution. To understand evolution you just need some common sense and the ability to count to ten. There are literally billions of pieces of evidence out there that support evolution 100%. From the fossil record, radioactive decay dating, genes (you know.. .that stuff used in the courts to convict murders… yah.. it proves evolution). We also can surmise from the above sentence that you don’t know what a scientific theory and scientific fact are in science. You claim people treat it as fact. Yes they do as it is a fact. (I can almost imagine the hysteria building up in you at this point as you want to vigorously rush forward and shout, “but its only a theory!” )
Well huny bunch, Evolution is a fact and a theory. In this little thing called science that you are completely oblivious to a theory NEVER EVER becomes a fact. Why you ask? Its pretty bloody simple. A scientific theory EXPLAINS a scientific fact. It never becomes a fact. Let me give you an example:
Fact: Apple falls
Theory: Gravity
Fact: Things change (aka “they evolve”)
Theory: evolution

I know you don’t know anything about evolution so I am pretty sure your knowledge on biology may found wanting so for your convenience let me help you with this one. Rabbits don’t chew cud and insects have 6 legs.

Great for that, but let me put that sentence into context. Most scientists went looking for god and realized that Christianity was full of it and became atheist or agnostic.

Another common Christian lie told amongst Christians to make them feel better about the lies they tell each other. Darwin was a religious man but he said no such thing on his death bed. Try be honest here. I know its hard for Christians like you.

Of course it’s a cult. Look how it makes you talk absolute unthinking crap on my blog. I used to be a Christian… until well into my 20`s. I am happy to say I am now fully grown up and more honest. Ergo I can not accept something as inconsistent as Christianity as my ideology

Do I need to be asked to be raped before I can talk about rape? Seriously… you are using that as a point? I don’t know where you come from, but you come across as American. They are the only ones I know who can produce such irrational logic.

Pretty useless God that requires cash. Its all about the money money money money... even for your God. It reminds me of that saying. Gods don’t kill people, people with Gods kill people. The most ironic thing for me is when tithe money is used to buy lightning steeples for their churches. Not very faithful are they? ;)

Okay, I chuckled a lot when I read this point. Haha. Seriously its stupid. Where to start. Well lets look at those scientists. Lets start with the oldest scientist you mention there. Galileo Galilei. You do know he was PERSECUTED by the church for teaching us that the earth is not the centre of the universe (as priests throughout the ages before that had brainwashed their rather simple believers into believing). Anyways.. lets look at another example of one of your “Christian Scientists”.. Albert Einstein. Lets get a quote from him should we?

Don’t was your prayer on me. As evidence by your letter that was completely torn to shreds. Please pray to God and ask him to give you more than four brain cells and the ability to tell the truth. I certainly am no Einstein but I am smart enough to know that you have no clue about what you are talking about. I am also smart enough to double check all my points and yours. You told many lies in the court of your comment to me, yet you wish to convince me that Christians like you are good? I don’t believe you. If you were willing to learn from your mistakes, learn something and move on… I would take you seriously.. You however are a closed minded Christian with no clue about what evolution is, you happily tell lies about it and Darwin and make up random shit you think sounds good. I don’t trust you and I don’t believe you.

Leetest form of linux there is. The primary OS I now use. Kubuntu, Dapper Drake, 6.06 LTS. I really think people should use this as their default OS
For those of you who dont know, I run Kubuntu OS as my desktop OS. With all the queerness of Microsofts Anti Piracy campaign, I have decided to completely leave the MicroSoft world. Sure, I loose windows media player and some gaming choices. However, you do get awsome games like warsow that are completely open source, and LOADS of fun to play. If you are in South Africa, there is a South African warsow server gracefully hosted by Web Africa. When in the game just type "connect warsow.webfafrica.co.za" And you will connect to the server to be able to jam with the rest of us.

I consider this a book that every South African should read to get perspective in their lives. Its honesty is most refreshing and Al Lovejoy`s ability to capture in words the essence of a culture and history of a generation of south Africans is amazing. Al Lovejoy has earned a lot of respect from a generation of youth who appretiate the truth. Thank you Al.

I came across this site by Anup Shah that has a detailed look into the causes of poverty. I found some of the statistics he shows to be very embarrassing and a shameful reflection on humanity today.
* Half the world — nearly three billion people — live on less than two dollars a day.
* The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the poorest 48 nations (i.e. a quarter of the world’s countries) is less than the wealth of the world’s three richest people combined.
* Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
* Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.
* 1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world). 640 million live without adequate shelter, 400 million have no access to safe water, 270 million have no access to health services. 10.6 million died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (or roughly 29,000 children per day).
