What he wanted to do, was unite the gnostic and judaistic faiths under a common banner. Since gnosticism was extremely broad, it was decided to amalgamate it all together, and a massive council was called on the issue. Votes were cast, people argued, and the most popular and conformed books got chosen for the bible, it whats known as the nicean creed:

Most of the stories in the bible have some interesting origins. Lets take the following:

Quote:
* He is God made flesh, the savior and "Son of God."
* His father is God and his mother is a mortal virgin.
* He is born in a cave or humble cowshed on December 25 before three shepherds.
* He offers his followers the chance to be born again through the rites of baptism.
* He miraculously turns water into wine at a marriage ceremony.
* He rides triumphantly into town on a donkey while people wave palm leaves to honor him.
* He dies at Eastertime as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
* After his death he descends to hell, then on the third day he rises from the dead and ascends to heaven in glory.
* His followers await his return as the judge during the Last Days.
* His death and resurrection are celebrated by a ritual meal of bread and wine, which symbolize his body and blood.[1]

Sound familiar? Yes its Osiris-Dionysus, born and died a couple of thousand years before the JC. Coincidence? A pope, once when confronted with this information thought it was fishy as well. His response, "the devils plagerism by anticipation". Yeaaaaaaaah. ok.

Lets look at Sunday... why do we all go to church on a Sunday? that doesn't make much sense, considering Saturday is the Sabbath. It does make sense if you are an emerging religion, and you are wanting to get as many as followers as possible.

There was a gnostic/pagan group that used to worship the sun. To incorporate this group of people, prayers were changed to Sunday. You now also know where the name "Sunday" comes from.

What about the Vatican? what were its origins?

Christianity is a perfect example of religious Darwinism.

Why do I bring this up? Its not because I don't believe in a god.. I honestly do, but to be something as powerful as a god, you can not have emotions, like jealousy, bigotry, sexism and revenge. Which the monolithic religions all say god is like. I think god is being misinterpreted for pure political and social beliefs and that's what grates my goat.

Believe in what you want, it makes no difference to me, but dont let those suffer around you because of it.
